Hello November

We’re excited to launch New Leaf Blog Posts, a fresh space where we’ll share stories and updates that go deeper than a quick social scroll. Think seasonal advice from the greenhouse, product spotlights, event recaps, and notes from the market floor—sent straight to your inbox so you never miss a beat. If you haven’t already, take a moment to subscribe and join us here for a more relaxed, long‑form read.

As we head into the holidays, our design bench is bustling with centerpieces, doorway arrangements, and custom florals for gatherings big and small. Whether you order online, pop into the shop, or call us to talk through ideas, we’ll tailor each piece to your color palette, style, and setting. Same‑day delivery is available on orders placed before noon (delivery fees apply), and our flower selection changes with the season and current stock. If you have something special in mind, we’re happy to source with a quick consultation.

Saturdays are our favorite way to slow down and savor the season. Grab a Black Dog Coffee Co, wander the aisles, and discover gifts that feel personal—small‑batch goods from local artisans, select wines, and one‑of‑a‑kind finds you won’t see everywhere else. Behind the scenes, our team has been busy expanding our in‑house lineup: hand‑poured candles with thoughtful scent blends, delightfully crisp freeze‑dried candies, pup‑approved freeze‑dried dog treats, and both freeze‑dried and dehydrated mushrooms cultivated right here at New Leaf. It’s a little snapshot of what we love most: craft, quality, and community.

Each month, we’ll also spotlight a houseplant that deserves a place in your home. This month’s pick is the Zee Zee Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)—a glossy, sculptural favorite known for thriving on neglect. It’s content in low to medium indirect light (and perfectly happy in brighter, indirect spots), stores water in its rhizomes, and asks for very little beyond a well‑draining potting mix and the occasional dust‑wipe to keep those leaves shining. Let the soil dry most of the way down between waterings, then give it a thorough soak and drain; overwatering is the only real misstep here. ZZ is a brilliant choice for desks, entryways, and rooms that don’t get much sun. (Note: it’s considered mildly toxic to pets if ingested.)

Our November calendar is designed for creativity and good company. Petals & Pours returns on Saturday, November 8, inviting you to design your own arrangement while enjoying a wine tasting and market browsing; we’ll do it again on Saturday, November 22 for those planning ahead for Thanksgiving tables and hostess gifts. And on Saturday, November 29, we’ll host our Holiday Vendor Market, a lively day of makers and small businesses—perfect for early gift gathering. If you’re a vendor, we’re now accepting applications; you can apply here: https://www.newleafmarketllc.com/holidaymarket.

Thanks for reading our first post. If the market has inspired a new tradition in your home—or introduced you to a local maker you now love—tell us about it the next time you stop by. Until then, subscribe for email updates, follow along on social for daily glimpses of greenhouse life, and come spend a Saturday with us. We can’t wait to share what’s next.
